A grand celebration is planned for Sunday, February 2nd in California
The Kumbh Mela, the oldest and largest gathering of humanity, is an extraordinary Hindu pilgrimage that happens every three years in India. Innumerable Kumbh Melas have taken place throughout history, making it a cornerstone of Hinduism’s spiritual tradition. Located at the confluence of sacred rivers, it is an occasion where spiritual seekers merge into the ocean of cosmic oneness (Advaita) signifying enlightenment. Organized by the 13 Akhadas (monastic orders) consisting of one million monks, Kumbh Mela embodies the profound eternal values of Sanatana Dharma (Hinduism’s ancient spiritual heritage) – oneness of everyone, peace, religious tolerance, and harmony.
THE SUPREME PONTIFF OF HINDUISM BHAGAVAN SRI NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM, is a Mahamandaleshwar of the Mahanirvani Akhada, and has been part of organizing many Kumbh Melas. He pioneered the global expansion of the Kumbh Mela, becoming the first to conduct it outside India in the USA in 2007. This groundbreaking initiative has since seen the festival celebrated multiple times in locations as diverse as Los Angeles, Ohio, and Australia. These events have expanded the festival’s reach, bringing its transformative energy to the global stage and allowing millions worldwide to experience its profound spiritual significance.
