What is Mahā Kumbh Melā?

Experience The Solid And Unshakeable Display Of Faith and Devotion

History notes that eons ago the Gods fell under a curse that made them lose their wealth, prosperity and radiance. Brahma, the creator, advised them to find the Kumbh (pot) containing the nectar of immortality (Amrita). The Gods sought help from the demons, and together they churned the primordial ocean to retrieve the nectar. As Dhanwantari, the divine healer appeared with the Kumbh containing nectar, a fight ensued between the Gods and demons to take possession of it. During the fierce battle a few drops of nectar fell in four different places on planet Earth: Allahabad (Prayagraj), Haridwar, Nasik and Ujjain (India).
Since then, when the planets align in the same position, pilgrims and devotees converge to commemorate this divine event. Kumbh Melā takes place every three years in rotation in the four sacred places.
The reports project that the 2025 Mahā Kumbh Melā there is an expected gathering of 50 million people!
This event is a solid and unshakeable display of faith and dedication; faith on Existence as the Life Force that is conducting this entire Universe. It is indeed the largest gathering of humanity on planet Earth.
Please note: this largest event happens with no invitation, no advertising, just a single line written in Panchika that says:
Mahā snan – Royal bath – is on this particular date; that’s all!
And mind you, this event is a gathering of millions of people in a place where there is not even an airport! Even the railway station is a small one.
THE SPH is also the Mahāmandaleshwar (supreme spiritual head) of the 13 Akhāḍās of the Sanātana Hindu Kingdom, wielding this responsibility since 2007 when He was just 29 years of age.
THE SPH started spearheading an expansive movement taking the ancient duties of the Śri Panchayati Mahānirvaṇi Akhāḍā, to all of humanity around the world.
THE SPH is reviving the Spirit of the Kumbh Melā to unify all beings to spread the most auspicious blessings of peace and love!

The Kumbh Melā is organized around the grand rituals of Shahi Snan when immersion of the Amrita Kalasha, Kumbh (golden urn) containing Kapila Mahamuni’s sacred relics.
The Shahi Snan – Royal bath is the ritualistic dip in the waters of the holy rivers including the river Kshipra in Ujjain, the Sangam (confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati) in Prayag, the river Godavari in Nasik, and the river Ganga in Haridwar.
24/7 Annadanam is provided for 45 days during the Kumbh Melā, serving over 50 million meals. Pilgrims embrace the right to experience themselves and others as Paramaśiva, the Divine at the Kumbh Melā, in fact the ratio of police to pilgrims is an inspiring 6,000 to 1!
Within the sacred environment of the Kumbh Melā we can understand the spiritual strength of the Hindus. The Hindu’s have dedication to Paramaśiva and to the collective consciousness by creating a safe and harmonious community.
